Join Sharon Virts, author of Masque of Honor and Bargains of Fate, and Heather Webb, author of The Hope Keeper, for an intimate evening celebrating the history, glamour, scandal, and stories that connect the past to the present.
Set Against the Backdrop of Belmont Manor
Set against the historic backdrop of Belmont Manor, Sharon and Heather will discuss what draws them to the true histories of old places, the people who inhabited them, and what connects their books to this historic manor house.
Sharon's Fields of Honor novels transport readers to Virginia in the early nineteenth century, when honor, reputation, family, and social standing shaped nearly every aspect of life. Many of her scenes unfold in the ballroom, billiard room, hallways, and dining rooms of Belmont Manor built by Ludwell Lee. Heather's The Hope Keeper takes readers into another glittering world a century later, inspired by Evalyn Walsh McLean, owner of the Hope Diamond — whose husband owned Belmont and whose famously contentious divorce entangled the estate.

Loudoun Museum Charity Auction — Great Falls
Loudoun Museum · Leesburg, Virginia
One of Sharon’s Reflectionist landscape paintings — a Great Falls interpretation in saturated blues, turquoises, and greens, with gold and rust rocks and lavender hills — will be donated to the Loudoun Museum’s charity auction, helping preserve the history of the county that raised her. The piece stays close to home while Sharon travels to Dallas that same weekend for her birthday and the opening of the first Reflectionism exhibition. “I painted what my mind saw — the part the lens left out.” That is the heart of Reflectionism: not simply how a scene looked, but how it feels to stand within it.
